DUNKIN’ DONUTS OPENS NEW RESTAURANT IN DEIRA CITY CENTRE
If you are one of the more than 19 million shoppers who visit Dubai’s Deira City Centre annually, you can now kick back and take a breather after a busy day of shopping at the newly-opened Dunkin’ Donuts outlet in the mall’s Metro Link.
Situated in the newly-opened extension of the mall, which is a magnet for shoppers and tourists from around the region, the Metro Link features restaurants, coffee shops, money exchanges, optometrists among others.
The outlet, which is Dunkin’ Donuts’ 65th in the UAE, will feature the entire spectrum of the quick-serve chain’s popular range of products, including their wide variety of donuts, delicious hot and iced coffee, hot and iced lattes, cappuccinos, coolatta slush drinks, munchkins and other baked goods and beverages. The move is part of Dunkin’ Donuts’ structured expansion strategy across the UAE, which includes the establishment of 11 new outlets in the country in 2011.
“Our move to open our latest restaurant in Deira City Centre is part of our strategy of making our delicious range of quality baked goods and coffee available to customers wherever they congregate,” said David Rodgers, General Manager of Dunkin’ Donuts Middle East. “Deira City Centre is one of the most popular shopping and leisure destinations in the city for both residents and visitors so it was a natural choice to set up an outlet here,” he added.
Beginning with a single restaurant in Quincy, Massachusetts, the Dunkin’ Donuts story has been one of epic success. Over the years the international quick serve giant, which is now headquartered in Canton, Massachusetts, has captured the loyalty of a worldwide following and is today present in over 32 countries, with the company opening its 10,000th restaurant in X’ian, China recently. Dunkin’ Donuts has also recently revealed expansion plans into India, where it plans to open 500 outlets beginning in 2012.
Deira City Centre first opened its doors in November 1995. At the time, it virtually redefined the concept of “malls” for the region. As the first large-scale, mixed-use shopping destination, complete with retail outlets, restaurants, entertainment facilities and a hotel, Deira City Centre created an international dimension for one-stop shopping and entertainment for the Middle East, bringing it to an entirely new level. Today it encompasses over 115,000 square metres of retail space and features over 370 retail stores and services. Annual footfall to the mall is in excess of 19 million visitors.
